Zombie Character Project

In this project I worked on the modeling, texturing lighting and final composition. Working side-by-side with animators, riggers, and 2-D VFX artists on this short film about a lazy zombie was an amazing experience. This project is very special to me, primarily because of the dedication and hard work from everybody involved in it. See the complete Project here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45074AOYcdw

All the objects and the backgroud in the scene was modeled and textured using Maya and Zbrush. The objects in the front and the backside were rendered in Maxwell, using our own lighting and shaders. The character was rendered using Mental ray in Autodesk Maya and finally composed in Adobe After Effects.

Below are some views from the character and renders showing the surface detail and textures.

People usually don´t see all the little details in a character due to fast motion on screen. So here you can appreciate them.

The posters over the walls in this following scene, were made by Alberto Luna: a great Illustrator who worked in this project with me.

Here are other views of the room for you to appreciate. You can see now all the objects around which were modeled to create the scene. I wanted to build a fully chaotic environment, but I had to put each object one by one in precise order.

At same time, the kitchen was modeled and organized using Maxwell for the Lighting and Rendering. We used Mental Ray for the motion objects and the character. The final composition was made using Adobe After Effects.

Here some images without textures only the model surface. Rendered into keyshot and Zbrush.
